Theresa Zoller


Theresa was born in Marysville, CA. She has been working for PJUSD for 32 years as a school secretary. Theresa has three children Chad, Justin, and Brianna. All of her children are Princeton graduates. Theresa is also a Princeton Graduate, class of 1982. When Theresa is not at Princeton Elementary she spends her time with her family, reading, and scrapbooking. She has a bird and two dogs, but she says they are her children’s. Theresa loves the small size of the elementary school and being able to get to know both the children and parents. If you have a question, Theresa has an answer!

Linda Hansen


Linda was born in Colusa, CA and graduated from Princeton High School. After graduation, she began working at Tri-Counties Bank in Willows as a teller. She worked there for five years, advancing to loan secretary. She then began her next job at Princeton Elementary School where she has been employed for 26 years. She enjoys working with the students, staff, and parents at the school.

Linda has been happily married for 28 years to a wonderful man, Greg Hansen. She is very proud of their two great kids, Cody and Amanda. Cody owns his own business, Hansen Trucking and Farms. Amanda who also graduated from Princeton Jr./Sr. High School is currently attending Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park.

Morgan Iversen

1st / 2nd Grade Teacher

Morgan was born in San Luis Obispo, CA. She graduated from California State University, Chico with a BA in Liberal Studies and a Multiple Subject Credential. She is currently attending CSU, Chico for her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. She has been working for Princeton Elementary since 2009 as a Kindergarten/1st Grade/2nd Grade Teacher. Morgan has a cat named Murphy and a dog named Stella.

Morgan says what she enjoys most about Princeton Elementary is “working with my students and their families.”

Kelly Bryant

3rd Grade Teacher

Kelly was born in Stuttgart, West Germany. She received both her B.A. in Education and Multiple Subjects Credential from California State University, Chico.  Her credential also includes authorization to teach English Language Learners. This is her seventh year teaching at Princeton Elementary and second year teaching third grade.  Kelly also taught K-6 English Language Development for 5 years. In her spare time Kelly enjoys spending time with her family, reading, swimming, running, and traveling.  Kelly currently lives in Chico with her husband, David and dog, Tamber. Kelly says “I absolutely love teaching and could not imagine myself doing anything else!”

Caitlin Phelps

5th/6th Grade Teacher

Caitlin was born and raised in Chico, CA and loved the area so much she decided to stay! She graduated from California State University, Chico with a BA in Liberal Studies and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.  During her time as an undergraduate, she volunteered in classrooms and taught fifteen two year olds at a local preschool. This is her second year teaching sixth grade at Princeton Elementary School.  She is also teaching fifth grade math for the first time this year.  Caitlin says ever since she was in second grade, she aspired to teach elementary students. 

When Caitlin is not a Princeton Elementary, she enjoys spending time outdoors.  She and her husband picked up backpacking when they got married four years ago, and love spending their free time in the back country.  As a teacher, she seeks to inspire her students to explore what the world has to offer and think critically about what they see and learn. Caitlin loves being part of the Princeton community because her students are hardworking, respectful, and a joy to teach.  She also appreciates the small class sizes at Princeton Elementary School because she feels it gives every student the opportunity to achieve their full potential.  In her class, Caitlin is able to give more focused instruction to meet the needs of each individual student.

Dena Schmidt

4th / 5th Grade Teacher

Dena was born in Willows, CA. She attended California State University, Chico with a BA in Liberal Studies and a supplement in English and Science. She has worked for PJUSD for 10 years and enjoys every minute of it! Currently, she teaches Elementary English Language Development and is the Lead Teacher. Dena has three children Tom, Jodi, and Davi who are all Princeton graduates. She currently has one grandchild, Lily.



Sandy Houtman

Paraprofessional/Computer Lab Supervisor

Sandy has worked for PJUSD for 13 years. It is a job that she loves, including her co-workers, and the students. She runs the Computer Lab at Princeton Elementary. She has also worked at the Princeton Jr./Sr. High School.  She married a local man and together they had 2 girls, 1 boy, they have 6 grandkids.  She loves spending time with her grandkids out on the ranch. She has an awesome Beagle mix dog, named Beau and a beautiful longhaired cat, named Summer. 

Sandy grew up in the Princeton area and went to Princeton Elementary and Princeton Jr./Sr. High School. She says the highlight of her high school career were sports and music. Sandy says she enjoyed growing up in the country and living on a working ranch.  Her family raised cattle and sheep, grew prunes, walnuts, wine grapes, and almonds. They also ran a prune dehydrator, which many local students have worked at.  She says it was hard work but very rewarding.  She also worked at Alderson Ranch Supply for many years.

Initially Sandy worked in the travel industry after moving to Chico and attending Butte College and California State University, Chico.  She has been to England, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Greece, Mexico, and Hawaii, as well as up and down the West Coast.  When the airline she worked for went bankrupt, she decided it was a good time to receive more education and in an area of demand.  As computers, numbers, and math were of interest to Sandy, she applied to and attended Heald Business College in Santa Rosa. She received degrees in Accounting, Computer Programming, and Data Processing.  She was also an Office Manager and Bookkeeper for over 20 years before moving back to the Princeton area.

During the past 15 years, she has been involved with the Princeton 4-H Club as its Key Leader as well as Project Leader in cooking, arts and crafts, photography, and Swine.  She is most proud of the work the Princeton community has accomplished with fundraising efforts for various community members and causes.  Also, after moving back, Sandy went back to school and furthered her education and obtained a Designated Subject Credential in Computer Applications so she could proudly enjoy the job she has here today at Princeton Elementary.

Janine Beard

Resource Teacher

Janine was born in Berkeley, CA and grew up in the East Bay. She graduated from California State University, Chico with a BA in Liberal Studies and an emphasis in Psychology. She also acquired her Multiple Subject Credential and Education Specialist Credential from California State University, Chico. This is her fourth year as a Special Education Teacher at PJUSD.

Janine has one daughter and a second child is on the way. She has two cats and enjoys water skiing, yard work, cleaning house, and arts/crafts in her spare time. Janine especially enjoys her time here at Princeton because of her wonderful students and the small community.

Agripina Rodriguez

Paraprofessional (bilingual)

Agripina was born in Florencia de Benito Juárez, Zacatecas, México. She came to the United States in 1980. She also attended Princeton Jr./Sr. High School and graduated in 1983. She has four children Leslie, Brenda, Martin, and Emmanuel. Leslie, Brenda, and Martin Graduated California State University, Chico. Emmanuel is currently attending CSU Chico.

Agripina enjoys spending time with her family, reading, cooking, and walking (especially at Bidwell Park in Chico, CA). She has a miniature French Poodle, her name is Morusa. Agripina enjoys working with the students and listening to their stories. She believes PJUSD is a great environment for students.

Lauren Kelleher

TK / K Teacher

Lauren Kelleher was born in Fairfield, CA and attended California Baptist University, earning a BA in Liberal Studies and a multiple subject teacing credential.  Before teaching in California, Lauren lived in South Korea for two years, teaching fifth grade at an international school in Uijeongbu, and "would do it again in a heartheat."  2016-17 will be Lauren's first year in Princeton, and she will be teaching kindergarten.

She and her fiancee will be wed in July.  Neither currently has any pets, but her veterinarian husband-to-be really wants a cat.  Reflecting on joining Princeton Elementary, Lauren stated, "I enjoy the incredible reputation PJUSD has for being a tight-knit, collaborative community."

Sheila Skemp

4th / 5th Grade Teacher

Sheila Skemp was born in Qunicy, CA and attended University of Southern California - Rossier School of Education for her M.A. and multiple subject teaching credential; she also earned a gifted education certificate.  2016-17 will be her first year as a Princeton teacher, and she will be sharing the 4th/5th grade combo class with Dena Schmidt.  Sheila has one son, Ethan, who is attending the University of Nevada Reno in the Chemical Engineering Department.  Sheila's hobbies are crafts (crochet, knitting, beads, etc.), outdoors (hunting, fishing, camping), reading, cooking, and baking.  She has three cats: Maul-e, Lt. Uhura, and Deanna Troi.
