Sandy has worked for PJUSD for 13 years. It is a job that she loves, including her co-workers, and the students. She runs the Computer Lab at Princeton Elementary. She has also worked at the Princeton Jr./Sr. High School. She married a local man and together they had 2 girls, 1 boy, they have 6 grandkids. She loves spending time with her grandkids out on the ranch. She has an awesome Beagle mix dog, named Beau and a beautiful longhaired cat, named Summer.
Sandy grew up in the Princeton area and went to Princeton Elementary and Princeton Jr./Sr. High School. She says the highlight of her high school career were sports and music. Sandy says she enjoyed growing up in the country and living on a working ranch. Her family raised cattle and sheep, grew prunes, walnuts, wine grapes, and almonds. They also ran a prune dehydrator, which many local students have worked at. She says it was hard work but very rewarding. She also worked at Alderson Ranch Supply for many years.
Initially Sandy worked in the travel industry after moving to Chico and attending Butte College and California State University, Chico. She has been to England, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Greece, Mexico, and Hawaii, as well as up and down the West Coast. When the airline she worked for went bankrupt, she decided it was a good time to receive more education and in an area of demand. As computers, numbers, and math were of interest to Sandy, she applied to and attended Heald Business College in Santa Rosa. She received degrees in Accounting, Computer Programming, and Data Processing. She was also an Office Manager and Bookkeeper for over 20 years before moving back to the Princeton area.
During the past 15 years, she has been involved with the Princeton 4-H Club as its Key Leader as well as Project Leader in cooking, arts and crafts, photography, and Swine. She is most proud of the work the Princeton community has accomplished with fundraising efforts for various community members and causes. Also, after moving back, Sandy went back to school and furthered her education and obtained a Designated Subject Credential in Computer Applications so she could proudly enjoy the job she has here today at Princeton Elementary.
